Did you know that one of the techniques I like to work with is Lithogravure?
This technique consists of recording an image in a matrix and thus reproducing the design several times, like a stamp. This method was first used to reproduce images in books, at a time when the types of printing for reproduction were very different from those that exist today.
As much as the technique is not so common nowadays, it was through engraving that we arrived at the fastest contemporary printing technologies. Even though traditional modes have become obsolete in view of new techniques, in the field of art, traditional printmaking still has its place.
There are several engraving techniques. The most used are woodcut, metal engraving, lithography and silkscreen.
Although they are all reproduction techniques, each one has its specificities, such as a different material used as a matrix (such as stone, wood and metal) and a unique way of reproducing the image.
When printing you use a specific ink for the technique, it does not dry quickly so it is possible to make the prints calmly so that the images come out perfect. And besides, you can make prints in multiple colors or with more than one color.
My works were produced in stone, that's why it's called Lithogravure. It is a technique that I identify with and I took courses to improve myself.
In this post I will show you some of my work!
Oh and a curiosity is that the third engraving of the post will appear in a feature film by @emilianoruschel with @danisuzuki wait for the release of this amazing work!
